Position Summary
HCL Software develops, markets, sells, and supports over 20 product families across four main pillars: Customer Experience, Digital Solutions, Secure DevOps, and Security and Automation.
HCL's AppScan team is looking for a motivated, willing to learn Build/Compliance engineer to join their team.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and updating the build pipelines for all of the AppScan products.
You will be closely collaborating with the development team for creating software releases and/or docker artifacts for staging and various production environments. You will be working with the development team and working on the automation tasks that involve release planning, and productization. You will also be responsible for the management, patching and upgrades of build systems according to company and security guidelines.
As a compliance engineer you will ensure that designated compliance policies are adhered to, within the product release timelines.
What you will be doing
- Develop and manage build scripts and environments with Jenkins, Nexus, etc across Window. Linux and osx platforms to support build and release of HCL AppScan products.
- Oversee versioning of software releases, ensuring that different versions are correctly tagged and documented in version control systems (Github)
- Integrate the build with various components, including third party tools and libraries
- Partner with development to ensure that automated tests are run as part of the build, and assist in resolving issues with build and testing setups.
- Support compliance and configuration of build and release environments for the HCL AppScan organization.
- Use SCM tools and Jira to best align with the Agile development model.
What is needed from you (Qualifications, Functional Skills and Technical Skills)
Qualifications
- Must have the work authorization status as US Citizen
- Must presently reside and live within the continental United States
- Strong preference and first consideration will be those who can work in a hybrid role in the Boston market and report to our Chelmsford, MA Office
- We will consider other remote candidates but need someone from the EST zone
Functional Skills Required
***Critical: this is not a entry level or mid level role, we need someone with 2-4 years of experience in Building and Releasing Product Software specifically using Jenkins***
- 3 years of developing and managing build scripts
- 3 years of using version controls for new software releases
- 3 years of supporting compliance and configuration of build and release environments.
- Collaborating with engineer teams to ensure that testings is being done correctly
Technical Skills Required
- 3 years of experience with Jenkins, including administration (upgrades, adding agents, etc) and creating pipeline style jobs.
- 3 years of experience of Gradle, Groovy, Batch/Shell.
- 3 years of experience on windows (strongly preferred additional experience on linux/osx).
- 3 years working with Nexus, Docker
Preferred skills
- Experience with management of cross platform systems (VMs, physical)
- Experience with Github, and Jira

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.
